The Sarasota Police Department is launching a new podcast. Chat with the Chief is a podcast about initiatives in the City of Sarasota and within the Sarasota Police Department the community may not know about. Listeners can stream all podcast episodes at www.buzzsprout.com/2162783

The first episode, All about the Traffic Unit and Roundabouts, is streaming now. This episode features guests Sergeant Frangioni and Officer Beskin. They chat with Chief Troche about things the Sarasota Police Department Traffic Unit is tasked with, including conducting traffic studies and investigating traffic homicides. Chief Troche, Sgt. Frangioni and Officer Beskin talk about roundabouts in the City, including the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project at Gulfstream and U.S. 41.

Chief Troche hopes this free podcast will inform citizens about topics they may want to know more about, from recruiting efforts to homeless outreach. Podcasts are convenient for listeners, as they do not require uninterrupted attention. Chief Troche hopes by speaking on topics citizens have shown interest in, he can better connect with the community.

"I wanted to share information and stories happening within our agency so listeners can understand the complexity and all the moving parts within the Sarasota Police Department," said Chief Rex Troche. "In the past, we've held community meetings in person, but not everyone could attend. Launching a podcast is the best way to share our message where listeners can access it at their leisure," said Chief Troche.
