General Order 406.51.1 states, "Under normal, non-emergency conditions and while responding to routine calls for service, officers shall strictly adhere to all traffic laws and drive in a safe, courteous manner."
How do I have someone evicted?
Contact the Sarasota County Sheriff, Civil Division, at 951-5100.
What can I do if I believe my child is using drugs?
Attempt to ask your child pertinent questions about their possible use of drugs. If necessary contact a local treatment provider for further instructions. A police officer can respond if you have located what you believe to be illegal substances.
What can I do about harassing phone calls?
Contact the Sarasota Police Department, 316-1199, to make a report of the calls. You will then be instructed to contact your telephone service provider for further instructions.
What can I do about vehicles speeding in my neighborhood?

Where do I pay a parking ticket or a traffic citation?
Three working days following the incident the report will be available to the public. Copies are obtained in the records section of the Police Department located in the front lobby area. You may call ahead to order your copies from the Records Department, 941-263-6045. There is a charge to obtain these records. The records window is open Monday through Friday from 8:00a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

What do I do about abandoned vehicles on private property?
Contact Police Communications at 911 if it is an emergency or 316-1199 for non-emergencies. A determination will be made to send a police officer and/or County Animal Control.
Where do I get fingerprints taken?
Contact the Sarasota County Sheriff, via their Website.
How do I obtain a trespass warning for someone?
Contact Police Communications, 316-1199, and a police officer will respond. The owner or manager will then issue the warning in the presence of the police officer who will document the warning for records purposes.
How do I file for a restraining order?
