SARASOTA, FL. – August 25, 2017   – 8 a.m.

On Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 3 p.m., Chief Bernadette DiPino will hold a Promotional and Semi-Annual awards ceremony.  The ceremony will be held in the 3rd Floor Training Room of the Sarasota Police Department, 2099 Adams Lane, Sarasota.

Lieutenant Lori Jaress has been promoted to the rank of Captain and Acting Lieutenant Rex Troche has been promoted to Lieutenant.  This was effective August 16, 2017.  Awards presented during the ceremony will include:  Citizen Certificate of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Life Saving Medal, Unit Commendations, Unit Citations and Chief’s Award.

The ceremony is open to friends, family, residents, community leaders and the media.  Those planning to attend are asked to arrive at 2:45 p.m. so the ceremony can begin on time.  The ceremony will also be streamed live on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/SarasotaPoliceDepartment) and Twitter (@SarasotaPD).
