SARASOTA, FL. – August 23, 2017 – 10 a.m.
On Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at approximately 7:35 p.m., the Sarasota Police Department Narcotics Unit, Street Crimes and SWAT Team conducted a search warrant at 2950 Palmadelia Avenue, Sarasota.
Sarasota Police Officers started their investigation into illegal activity happening at 2950 Palmadelia Avenue in February 2017 after multiple anonymous Crimestoppers tips. Officers conducted several undercover purchases of illegal narcotics from the house.
Lee Claridy, 49, and Tyrone Davis, 48, both of 2950 Palmadelia Avenue, were arrested and charged with various felonies. While conducting the search warrant, Officers located:
· 193.9 grams of cocaine
· 31.9 grams of marijuana
· Digital scale
· $512 in U.S. currency
· Small baggies consistently used for packaging narcotics
Claridy has 26 felony arrests with 9 felony convictions. Prior arrests include cocaine possession, aggravated assault on a police officer with a deadly weapon, armed robbery with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. On Tuesday, Claridy was charged with:
· Trafficking in Cocaine (28 grams – 200 grams) (felony)
· Possession of Marijuana (felony)
· Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (misdemeanor)
· Obstruction of service or execution of a search warrant (misdemeanor)
Davis has 28 felony arrests with 21 felony convictions. Prior arrests include narcotics violations, sale of cocaine and fleeing to elude. On Tuesday, Davis was charged with:
· Possession of cocaine (felony)
Both men were arrested and transported to the Sarasota County Jail without incident.
