Two People Arrested In Connection to 11 Vehicle Burglaries

Post Date:09/28/2018 8:17 AM

Two adults have been arrested following a vehicle burglary early Monday morning.  The investigation revealed both individuals were also involved in burglarizing at least 10 other vehicles during the same night.

Taylor Carr, 19, of Sarasota, and Mackenzie Dailing, 22, of Sarasota, have been arrested and charged with 11 felonies each.  Carr is charged with 8 counts of Vehicle Burglary and 3 counts of Vehicle Burglary (Attempt).  Dialing is charged with 8 counts of Vehicle Burglary and 3 counts of Vehicle Burglary (Attempt).

On Monday, September 24, 2018, at approximately 2 a.m., Sarasota Police Officers responded to the 2700 block of Wisteria Place for a report of a vehicle burglary being witnessed by residents.  As Officers were responding, an Uber driver called and reported that he picked up a male and female in the area and drove them only 0.30 miles.

As Officers approached the area, Dailing walked outside of a residence and Carr waited at the door.  The resident who originally witnessed the vehicle burglary in progress identified Dailing and Carr.  Both were arrested and transported to the Sarasota County Jail.

The Sarasota Police Department wants to remind citizens to always remove firearms and valuables and lock the doors before leaving any vehicle.
