Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department have arrested a Sarasota man after a search warrant was executed at his apartment following two cyber-tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).  Michael Grider, 46, of Columbia Court, Sarasota, has been charged with 17 counts of Sexual Performance by a Child – Possession of Child Pornography.

On October 16, 2018, Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department executed a search warrant at Grider’s apartment in the 500 block of Columbia Court.  Detectives received two cyber-tips from NCMEC who received the information from Google with the same image of child pornography being uploaded on different days.  Grider being in possession of the child pornography images is believed to have taken place between January and August 2018.

On November 1, 2018, Grider was arrested and transported to the Sarasota County Jail where he’s currently being held on $170,000 bond.  Sarasota Police Detectives have not located any local victims in relation to this case, but the investigation remains ongoing.  Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact Detective Megan Buck at 941-954-7067.
