Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying four burglary suspects who were caught on camera burglarizing two convenience stores on Monday, November 5, 2018.
At approximately 1:10 a.m. on November 5, 2018, Sarasota Police Officers were dispatched to the Shell Station, 300 N. Washington Boulevard, Sarasota, in reference to a front door glass break alarm. When Officers arrived, they found a broken front glass door and a large cement rock.
Video shows a silver type color 4-door sedan back into a parking space and four males exiting the vehicle and approaching the front door. One of the occupants was carrying a large rock and threw it through the front door. Once inside, the four suspects ran towards the cash register, grabbed multiple cartons of cigarettes and fled the store. The exact number and value are unknown.
At approximately 1:20 a.m., Officers responded to the Citgo/Dodge Store, 3580 Fruitville Road, Sarasota, in reference to a second burglary. When Officers arrived, they found a broken front glass door and cement paver.
