Dalton Harney, 19, of Oarsman Court, Sarasota, has been arrested and is facing charges of Trafficking in MDMA after selling to undercover Sarasota Police detectives from September through November.  MDMA is a synthetic drug that alters mood and perception.  It is also known as molly or ecstasy.

On September 20, 2018, Harney delivered and sold 14.2 grams with packaging of MDMA to an undercover detective in exchange for $1,000.  On October 17, 2018, Harney delivered and sold 9.3 grams with packaging of MDMA to an undercover detective in exchange for $650.  On November 20, 2018, Harney delivered and sold 27.5 grams with packaging of MDMA in exchange for $1,900.

In total, 50.5 grams of MDMA were delivered and sold by Harney to undercover detectives.  50.5 grams of MDMA has a street value of $3,800  (a photo is attached).

Harney is facing charges of:

• 2 counts of Trafficking in MDMA (felony)
• Sale of a Controlled Substance (felony)

Harney was arrested and transported to the Sarasota County Jail and has been released on a $67,500 bond.
