The Sarasota Police Department is taking social media followers on another virtual ride-along. On Friday, the Sarasota Police Department will be hosting a Marine Patrol edition of ‘Tweet from the Beat.’
On Friday, April 29, 2019 beginning at 8 a.m., Marine Patrol Officer Michael Skinner will share what he says and does through texts, videos, GIFs and photos while on the water. The Sarasota Police Department Partnership Policing Communications Coordinator will be tweeting on behalf of Officer Skinner.
“We’re fortunate to have boating weather nearly year round in the City of Sarasota. However, this is the time of year that we start to see boat traffic increase on the water and people begin to prepare their boats for the upcoming Memorial Day holiday,” said Officer Skinner. “Carelessness and not paying attention are the leading causes of boating accidents. We want to keep boaters, their families and friends safe.”
