Sarasota Police Officers have identified the three individuals involved in this morning’s crash on John Ringling Causeway.

The three individuals are:

Oscar Flores, age 19, of Sarasota;
Daniel Flores, age 17 of Sarasota;
Isabella Paoletta, age 15, of Sarasota.

Daniel and Oscar are brothers. The relationship between the two males and female are unknown. Currently, it is unknown which person was the driver.

Just after midnight, a 4-door Sedan with the three teenagers inside, was traveling westbound over the John Ringling Causeway Bridge. For unknown reasons, the driver lost control, struck the sidewall of the bridge, a tree and at some point, the female was ejected from the vehicle.

The vehicle then caught fire and was extinguished by members of the Sarasota County Fire Department. After the fire was put out, the brothers were found inside the vehicle, deceased.

Sarasota Police Officers are investigating a triple fatality crash that happened just after midnight on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, on John Ringling Causeway in the area of Bird Key in Sarasota.  Due to the circumstances of the crash, the identity and ages of those involved is unknown at this time.

Just after midnight, a single vehicle with three individuals inside was traveling westbound over the John Ringling Causeway Bridge. Three individuals died as a result of the crash. 

The eastbound and westbound lanes of the John Ringling Causeway Bridge were closed from Sunset Drive to Bird Key Park for several hours.  All lanes are now open.  Drivers should be cautious of Officers working in the area.

It’s unknown if speed, alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.  The Sarasota Police Department continues to ask for patience and understanding regarding the details of this crash.  When additional information is available, it will be provided via email and shared on the various Sarasota Police Department social media accounts.
