Sarasota Police Conducting Death Investigation

The Sarasota Police Department is continuing its death investigation after the body of an adult man was found just after 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2022.  This incident is isolated, and there is no threat to the public.

Daniel D. Flowers, 31, of Sarasota, was found floating in the area of 5 Bayfront Drive, Sarasota, by a citizen.  When Sarasota Police officers arrived, Flowers was pronounced dead.

Sarasota Police officers are asking if anyone saw Mr. Flowers before his death or has any information on where he would hang out or frequent, please call Detective Steven Fergus with the Sarasota Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 941-263-6059, or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers by calling 941-366-TIPS or online at www.sarasotacrimestoppers.com

Sarasota Police officers do not believe foul play is involved, but the investigation remains active and ongoing.  The cause of death will be determined by the District 12 Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Sarasota Police Department is conducting a death investigation after the body of an adult man was found near 5 Bayfront Drive, Sarasota, just after 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2022.  This is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.

A citizen called dispatch and said the body of an unknown adult man was floating in the area of 5 Bayfront Drive.  When officers arrived, the man was pronounced dead.  Sarasota Police officers do not believe foul play is involved at this time, but the investigation remains active and ongoing.  The cause of death will be determined by the District 12 Medical Examiner’s Office.
